Beginner Bodybuilding Stack

Beginner Bodybuilding Stack

So, you are new to bodybuilding and have been smacked in the face with an unimaginable amount of information about supplements, supplement stacks and what supplements you should be taking, or at least what supplements the companies want you too be buying. There are so many brands out there and so many products I don’t blame you if you don’t have a clue what you need and what ones you should be buying.

Let me start off with saying not all supplements work, and the ones that do work don’t work for everyone. So now that we have taken out all the crap that doesn’t work we are left with the ‘effective’ supplements, the ones that should be a ’staple’ part to your stack and included in your daily diet. And you may be surprised to know that these ’staple’ supplements are some of the cheapest ones, and I am not bullshitting you. Remember, just cause it has a high price tag on it doesn’t mean you are paying for quality, you are most likely paying for the little logo stuck to the label.

So, what are these supplements? Below is a small list of supplements that almost all bodybuilders will have in their stack, and is all you need for your ‘beginners bodybuilding stack’

‘The essential supplements’

  • Protein
  • Creatine
  • Fish oil
  • Multi Vitamins

Is that it!? Yup, any more and you are most likely wasting your money, unless you know what you are buying and know what the active ingredients in it are. But trust me on this one, this is all you need if you are new to bodybuilding, period.

So now that you know what you need, you are still stuck with brands, price and type. So lets go into each product a bit more.

Protein - An essential supplement in the world of bodybuilding. They are great post workout, before bed and if you are a little short on your protein requirements for that day. One thing you must remember though is that it is just a supplement (just like all the others) and should never replace your protein source from whole foods (such as meats, nuts and milk).

So what type do I buy? There are a few different types of protein (e.g whey, isolate, casein) and they all differ slightly but it all comes down to the quality of the protein and how fast you want to absorb it. Just now you are going to stick to whey, it has best value for money and is perfect for post workout.

Creatine - One of the most effective supplements you will find. Again, there are a few different types (e.g monohydrate (mono) and ethyl ester (CEE)). Monohydrate will be the one for you and they are pretty much all the same so don’t opt for the big shiny bottle with a huge price tag, it won’t do you any better.

Multi Vitamins & Fish oils - You seriously can’t go wrong with these, they are all the same and vary only slightly from brand to brand so just buy them in bulk and save yourself some $$.

hope this clears things up for you, and you can thank me later when you realise you have saved your money and not bought useless supplements.

Still confused, here is a stack for you, tried and tested products by many people. And remember, if you know you get enough protein or vitamins etc then you don’t need to buy that part of the stack.
